Is a
Boxer
waiting for you? Adoption may be the answer!
Open
your heart and your home to a rescue boxer.
You'll be glad you did.
Every day,
thousands of dogs are abandoned, neglected and turned in to shelters
and pounds across America. Many of these dogs are boxers. They
find their way into rescue through no fault of their own.

Attention: If you or
someone you knows is contemplating surrendering a dog to
rescue, please make sure you are fully informed regarding the policies
of that organization. It has been alleged
that a Yorkshire Terrier rescue group has made the
decision to actively support a research activity in the area.
What this would mean is that a dog that is surrendered MAY be adopted
out
to a loving family OR it may be "adopted" by researchers or Rescue
members - in order that the dog be made to breed - to promote
research. Although Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue totally respects
researchers that are trying to help Yorkies and other breeds, we feel
that it is unethical for rescue groups to take dogs from shelters or
from individuals under the name of "rescue", and then, without the
shelter's or owner's knowledge, turn that dog over for
reproduction and research. In our experience, shelters have firm
criteria requiring that animals taken from their facilities not
only be spayed/neutered, but that those animals are expected to
be placed in forever/loving homes. Any rescue that chooses
to breed rescue dogs which have been surrendered to them by shelters or
individuals is violating the trust of shelters, pet owners, and the
public. Actions like these cannot be tolerated. If you
have a dog of any breed that must be surrendered anywhere in
the United States,
PLEASE investigate that rescue prior to the surrender, and take the
necessary actions to ensure that the animal to be surrendered will be
spayed/neutered, placed into a new loving home, and not be placed into
any type of research program.
